Join us for a range of free online sessions for people of all ages, ranging from yoga, to art workshops as well as storytelling, and even test your knowledge with a quiz!

The Centre’s mini yoga online sessions are designed to help people start the day right, and are led by one of Scotland’s top yoga instructors, Keira Thorley who guides viewers through yoga breathing as well as simple poses including downward facing dog which offers the ultimate all-over, rejuvenating stretch, and the tree pose which is good for improving your concentration, balance, leg strength and overall levels of relaxation.

Many people find art incredibly therapeutic, and as such The Centre is encouraging budding young artists to unleash their creative side with a range of art tutorials by Edinburgh-based Artist and Art Educator Cassandra Harrison.

Enthusiastic mini entrepreneurs will get inspiration on how to design their dream store front, while other tutorials demonstrate how to capture cherry blossom trees in all their Spring glory. Cassandra also has some additional exciting sessions lined up, including abstract art using simple circles, an origami tutorial, as well as a session on the history of kites which gives children the opportunity to create their very own bird kite, compete with hand drawn feathers.

Keen young bookworms are sure to be captivated by The Centre’s storytelling sessions with Scottish children’s author Coo Clayton. As a Primary Teacher Coo is skilled at making reading come alive for children and as part of The Centre’s schedule of free online activities she invites little ones into the world of Maggie’s Mittens and Maggie’s Monsters. The charming Scottish-themed stories are inspired by Coo’s own little girl and are perfect for children aged two to eight.

Free themed activity sheets for both storytelling sessions are also available to download from the What’s On section of The Centre’s website.

More online session will be announced soon.
