Lockdown – Store update

Following the announcement by the Scottish Government that stronger Lockdown Guidelines apply from Saturday 16th January, we have put together an updated list of the services which will remain available to you at The Centre during our period of partial closure.

At The Centre we are committed to ensuring that you have on-going access to the essential services you may need such as food stores, pharmacies, and banks. In addition to essential retailers, some restaurants and cafes in centre are offering takeaway and delivery services, while a limited number of retailers will be operating a Click & Collect service.

Any restaurants, cafes and eating places in The Centre offering takeaway services will do so from a serving hatch or their doorway as customers will no longer be permitted to go inside premises to collect takeaway food or drink. Guidelines state that for premises which open onto an enclosed space, such as a shopping centre concourse, use of barriers to narrow the entry to allow a takeaway counter to be created is permitted. For full guidelines please visit: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-tourism-and-hospitality-sector-guidance/pages/takeaways---no-indoor-entry/

Click & Collect will only be permitted for retailers selling essential items including clothes, footwear, baby equipment, homeware and books. Any retailers offering Click & Collect will have staggered appointments for collection to avoid any potential for queueing, and access inside premises for collection will not be permitted.

All retailers at The Centre choosing to open at this time are doing so in accordance with Scottish Government Guidelines. Guidelines for Lockdown, including rules and regulations for Shopping and the Hospitality Sector, can be found at http://bit.ly/ScotGovStayAtHomeGuidance

The following services will be available at The Centre during our period of partial closure. All details below are correct at the time of writing and we will update this list regularly but these may be subject to change at short notice, so please check the individual page listings of retailers regarding the services available, as well as opening times as these may not be the same as usual, to avoid disappointment. These can be found at https://www.thecentrelivingston.com/shop/store-guide/a-z for stores, and at https://www.thecentrelivingston.com/eat/a-z for restaurants and cafes.

We are doing all that we can to make The Centre a safe place to visit and we ask all our visitors to comply with Stay At Home Guidance and local travel restrictions and also adhere to the safety procedures in the mall. This includes the mandatory wearing of face coverings in the mall at all times, keeping a safe 2 metre distance and using our one way system.

Please note, during peak hours you may need to join a socially distanced queue to enter individual stores within The Centre during the period of partial closure. Please rest assured that our retailers will be working very hard to serve customers safely and quickly, to ensure that visitors queue for the shortest possible time.

We ask everyone visiting The Centre at this time for their patience and understanding – shopping may take longer than you may be used to and you may need to queue for longer as a result.

While West Lothian is in Lockdown, The Centre’s Customer Service Desk must remain closed so you won’t be able to purchase a Gift Card while visiting The Centre. You can however purchase a Gift Card online at www.thecentrelivingston.com via our safe and secure Gift Card portal.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and retailers for their ongoing support during these challenging times.
