Autumn always brings with it a host of new additions and festive favourites to The Centre’s restaurant and cafe menus. Whether you’re enjoying date-night dining, lunch with friends and family or stopping for a quick snack to refuel between shopping sprees, at The Centre you’re sure to find something to suit all appetites.
Enjoy a lazy lunch at ASK Italian where they’ve used the flavours of the season to bring you some delicious warming dishes. For starters, dive into a hearty new Minestrone Soup with vegetables, chickpeas, cannellini beans and orzo pasta, topped with a cheesy dumpling.
From their new fresh egg frilly pasta range, try their yummy Sausage and Truffle Infused Olive Oil Frilly Pasta; Italian Luganica sausage in a creamy tomato and truffled mushroom sauce topped with mascarpone, smoked prosciutto and truffle infused olive oil. Or why not warm up with Four Cheese Ravioli and Beef Ragu – a long ravioli filled with pockets of four cheese, oven baked on top of a rich beef ragu.
For pudding, ASK Italian has taken inspiration from retro flavours with Rhubarb and Custard Ravioli. This show-stopping dessert is an Italian take on a nostalgic British flavour favourite featuring pretty pink pasta parcels with a sweet and sour rhubarb filling, in mouth-watering vanilla custard, topped with crumble.
At ASK Italian there are plenty of vegetarian meal options, as well as allergen, vegan and non-gluten menus available, with dishes including super fresh, Prima Super Green Pizza, a pea purée base topped with tender baby kale, asparagus, peas, red pepper pearls, spinach, balsamic red onions and vegan mozzarella alternative.
Autumn is a season for comforting food that warms up both the body and soul, and at wagamama their new nikko curry does exactly that!
Nikko means “sunshine” in Japanese and their bright new citrusy curry is sure to bring a bit of light and vibrancy into the darker nights of autumn and winter. It’s a fragrant mix of coconut, lemongrass and turmeric with an abundance of fresh veg, meaning that it’s warming but not too heavy.
Tenderstem broccoli, sweet potato, butternut squash, green beans and bok choi is served with your choice of three different protein options – tofu and cauliflower which is vegan-friendly, as well as sea bream or chicken.
Taking inspiration from Japanese street food, wagamama has also introduced a vegan vegetable tempura dish with crispy fried tenderstem broccoli, red pepper, sweet potato and asparagus served with wakame seaweed and perfectly paired with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. Finally don’t miss out on their chicken yakatori - beautiful marinated chicken skewers coated in a spicy teriyaki sauce, shichimi and spring onion.
If you’re looking for a touch of spice to keep you warm this winter check out the mouthwatering menu at Chiquito, which includes some exciting and impressive vegan offerings which were added to the menu earlier this year.
At Chiquito they’ve introduced some new plant-based proteins such as palm hearts, banana blossom and jackfruit, giving their classic fajitas, tacos, burritos and burgers a vegan-friendly twist.
Try their Banana Blossom Burger which features a flavour-filled banana blossom patty topped with jalapeño slaw, greens and Violife vegan cream cheese alternative in a sourdough bun and served with a side of cassava fries or opt for the Pibil Jackfruit and Hot Habanero Torta – a telera bun topped with naked slaw and tasty jackfruit served with sweet potato fries. For non vegans, the Torta also has meaty options for fillings including Chicken Tinga and Tomatillo, or Barbacoa Beef and Chimichurri – yum!
Whether you’re vegan or not, Chiquito’s Chocolate Coconut Lava Cake is one not to be missed – served warm with a melting top and choice of coconut ice cream or passion fruit sorbet, it’s the perfect festive pud.
Over at Harvester their new menu includes a few fresh twists on Harvester favourites as well as exciting new dishes inspired by the very best of the British harvest.
Gather with friends and family to share their new tapas-style starters – try the buttermilk fried chicken tenders with BBQ dip or vegan nachos with smashed avocado, houmous, salsa and jalapeños. Then choose from delicious mains including a Steak Sandwich – sliced rump steak with pan-fried onions and sliced mushrooms in a brioche-style bun, with triple-cooked chunky chips and slaw, the perfect lunch to break up a day of Christmas shopping!
For vegans Harvester’s Thai Green Curry is a winner with sweet potato and mixed vegetables in an aromatic coconut broth, while their dessert menu includes some tempting treats such as Salted Caramel and Rocky Road Sundae and classic Cherry Pie.
Over at Nando’s their menu has had some vibrant new additions this year - three new salads, four new sides and in the last couple of weeks a tasty new wrap has been introduced which is guaranteed to be a firm favourite this winter!
For the sides there’s the rich and tangy Saucy Spinach - baby spinach with beans and chickpeas, cooked in a spicy tomato & coconut sauce, Grains n’ Greens - a munchable mix of grains, beans, peas and corn drizzled with an avocado & buttermilk dressing, Roasted Sweet Potato & Butternut Squash with wilted spinach and a sprinkle of feta cheese, and deliciously tender Long Stem Broccoli.
Bursting with colour and flavour the Nando’s Mozam Wrap is one not to be missed. Inspired by the colours of the Mozambican flag and dripping with saucy flavour, the wrap is spread with tangy pineapple & coconut chutney, topped with grilled chicken breast and lettuce, then drizzled with a rich black garlic sauce that’s worth getting messy for!
Cafes at The Centre also have a host of tempting offerings; there’s Costa’s Christmas favourites including Black Forest & Cream Hot Chocolate, Gingerbread Latte and Hot Chocolate, and Hazelnut Praline Latte and Hot Chocolate to get us in the festive spirit and a Christmas classic – Greggs festive bake!
With delicious children’s menus guaranteed to keep little tummies satisfied and a great selection of gluten free, vegetarian, non-dairy and vegan options to choose from – there’s something for everyone this festive season at The Centre.
